Basic salary range: $65k-$75k.


Schedule:

Monday- Friday in the office

*International communication will require availability during off-hours


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the processing of biweekly multistate confidential payroll for both our domestic and overseas payrolls

  • Coordinate with our third-party tax source to ensure compliance with US regulations, and overseas tax requirements

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential

  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices

  • Support the month-end closing for all payroll related accounts to ensure quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and other statutory reporting requirements for domestic and international payroll can be processed to meet statutory deadlines

  • Ensure accuracy of employee benefit contributions, fringe benefits, garnishments and other employee deductions

  • Research payroll issues/discrepancies and process necessary corrections

  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions

  • Receives and responds to payroll and payroll related inquiries from current and former employees

  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors

  • Performs additional duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Standing/Walking/Sitting: workday is combination of standing, walking and sitting

  • Must be able to climb stairs: 5% of day

  • Hands/Arms: constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use

  • Sight: visual acuity in near, mid and far range vision. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination

  • Hearing: sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone

  • Speech: sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone

  • Bending/Twisting: minimal

  • Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: minimal

  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required

  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments

  • Must use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine best method to accomplish desired results

  • Must be able to plan and organize work

  • Must possess strong organizational and computer use skills and have a high level of competency to read/write/speak English, interpret construction related documentation and communicate with coworkers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years working experience with union and non-union full cycle payroll

  • Two-year associate degree or direct experience equivalent

  • Understand proper taxation and deduction for compliance with the Fed, State, local jurisdictions and international payroll regulations

  • Excellent organizational skill, attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and demands

  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software

  • Strong leadership skills and sense of ownership

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong and meaningful relationships with others

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the teammates and various levels of management as well as external contacts

  • Self-motivated working under minimal supervision

Preferred:

  • Experience working in JD Edwards

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification

  • Prior experience processing multi-state and international payroll
